Fish resources
CIPEL's aim is to guarantee an abundant, high-quality fish resource, with a predominance of "noble" fish species such as whitefish, trout and arctic char, so as to maintain a good level of professional and recreational fishing on the lake.
With more than 1,000 tonnes of fish caught each year, the waters of Lake Geneva are considered to be very rich in fish! As for the various species of fish that live there, their abundance and distribution have changed as the quality of the environment has improved, which has also led to adaptations within the fishing community.
